It is not a secret that reading books have some incredible effects on our brains. It improves the way we talk, increases the number of words we use, and develops our imagination. It turns out there are many more benefits than those above.

A study conducted in 2011 (link in sources) showed a connection between reading books and improved ability to interact with others. Reading fiction contributes to our social abilities also. When we read fiction we keep track of the characters, the background, all the details given by the author, everything that is happening, and being said. This can significantly improve our communication with other people.

Even though it may seem illogical reading makes us better at time management. To set aside some time for reading we easily abandon social media, it is harder for us to get distracted and we plan our tasks in a way we can finish them as quickly as possible.

Reading is a social activity too. Book clubs, community libraries, and bookstores are places you can meet new people. We can hardly find any negative effects of reading books.
