In the past decades, the consumption of eggs drastically decreased due to science studies pointing to an increased risk of heart disease and diabetes. In particular the use of egg yolks. Today these studies’ results are rejected, and more and more scientists are talking about the advantages of eating eggs. Where is the truth?

It is not secret eggs contain a lot of cholesterol. But this is not necessarily a bad thing. Even if you do not consume foods with cholesterol, your liver will produce it anyway. Your body needs it. When you take cholesterol via foods, less of it is produced in the body, and the levels stay the same.

A lot of studies show that eating up to two eggs a day prevents eye diseases, protects the health of the brain, and helps you lose weight.

It is proven that people who already have heart disease can eat up to two eggs a day without worrying about their condition getting worse. It is not yet certain that consuming eggs increases the chances of diabetes, but there are some assumptions about it. It is recommended for people in prediabetes conditions to limit the consumption of eggs.

No matter what eggs remain, one of the healthiest foods you can eat. Eating egg white and yolk is perfectly safe in reasonable quantities.
